A Letter From Our President And
Founder.
Welcome to Outdoor Lighting Perspectives
Franchise Corporation. I'm confident that once you've had a chance
to review our business model, you'll consider it your best entrepreneurial
opportunity. My goal is to provide complete and accurate information
to insure you make a fully informed decision. Frankly, it was not
long ago I also was faced with a similar career change. Mortgage
payments, college tuitions, and other financial commitments impacted
my decision. This opportunity may or may not be the right one for
you. Be assured I will communicate with you in a direct and honest
manner. I thank you in advance for doing the same.
A Bit About My Background
As the youngest of
five children, my parents were career US Army. This is noted, as it was
pivotal in my development adjusting to the many challenges
associated with a military life. I graduated with honors from
Virginia Tech, earned a degree in marketing and spent the next 16
years in various sales, marketing and management roles at a Fortune
500 company. I am a member of the International Franchise
Association and (IFA) and am president of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Franchise Corporation.
Company History
Outdoor Lighting Perspectives
started in February, 1995. At that time, our marketing materials
were primitive but I felt confident that a fully satisfied customer
would be an invaluable method of advertising. We now have more than 75
locations with over $30 million in sales. Our franchise support staff is located at our corporate headquarters in
Charlotte, NC.
Basic Concept and Target Market
The concept
is the design, installation and service of landscape and
architectural lighting systems. Beauty, security and safety are
common buyer motivators. The target area is generally high-end
residential and commercial settings.
Support System
The employees at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Franchise Corporation provide a
current support ratio to our franchisees of about 2 to 10. We
conduct formal one-week training prior to location start-up, and we
travel to franchise locations on an ongoing basis. We recently
implemented a "fast-start" program to ensure each new franchise
location has the best possible beginning.
We have a corporate relationship with a quality national
franchise system, Sandler, a world-renowned company specializing in
sales and sales management training. Their custom programs have had
a very positive impact on our sales training.
It is often said that the quality of a franchise system is in
direct proportion to the quality of their support system. The most
important step in evaluating this and other quality franchises is to
invest the time interviewing current franchise owners.
- How would you rate the franchise and its support level?
- Would you buy it again today?
- What do you like most and least about your franchise?
Mandatory Skills
In addition to assessing
other franchises, it’s essential to be honest with yourself. Before
investing in a franchise, be sure to ask yourself if you have the following
crucial qualities:
- Desire to own your own business?
- Willingness to follow our detailed business model?
- Ability to interact and sell to the affluent?
- Ability to establish long-term relationships with various
trade partners?
- Willingness to "filter out" those things you cannot change?
- Have computer skills?
- Willingness to communicate with and assist other franchise
owners?
If you can answer “yes” to all of the above, I sincerely hope
you’ll let us hear from you. We’re eager to work with those who are
prepared to become a part of our growth.
Thank you for your interest in Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Franchise Corporation. On behalf of all our staff, I
wish you every success.
Sincerely,
Thomas Fenig
